Discovering WNY COMIC STRIPS
One of the seminal influences in my young life was a book called The Hodgepodge Book by Duncan Emrich. I loved the book so much that in our public library here in West Seneca, New York I was the only kid that ever took it out!
Over and over and over again... I basically had it in my possession for over a decade! I must have read it hundreds of times cover to cover.
I cherished it even more than any Shel Silverstein, Dr. Seuss or my beloved Roald Dahl books. It was MY book. As if it was made just for me.
It was full of Folklore, poems old comic illustrations & curiosities of all sorts and as I grew older, the urge to create something similar myself never passed until, as I created my first show in California, it dawned on me that I should try my hand at a bit of the same type of content that The Hodgepodge Book contained.
